Liqueur Strega is a 42 % safran-coloured Italian herbal liqueur. The production company Giuseppe Alberti in middle Italian Benevento has originally been a wine-trading house, which sold the products mainly to north-Italy and France. In the 80's of the last century a tax-fight between France and the new kingdom Italy interrupted the export business. Therefore, Giuseppe Alberti, improved his liqueur "Strega", because until that time, the production has only been a hobby for him. Strega is distilled from more than 70 herbs and ripens in oak barrels. Around the turn of the century, the Alberti-liqueur was already a great success in Italy. Today, Strega is exported to more than 60 countries, the herbs are even send to Brazil and Argentina to distil them their according to the original recipe.
