Olives
Olives are stone fruits of the oil - or olive tree, mainly growing in Mediterranean Countries. The colour can differ from green and black to violett, the taste is acrid and slightly bitter, the fruits are preserved in vinegar or salt water. You can get olives with or without stone, partly filled (with pepper, almonds, anchovys) in jars, it is used for decoration or for Sundries.
Oloroso
Dry to light sweet, dark golden Sherry.
On the rocks
Served on ice cubs, without adding any water, soda etc.
Orange-Bitter
This is a spice bitter made of the peeling of sour oranges (Pomeranzen). It is a bitter liqueur after the law , but never to be consumed purely. Known product: Riemerschmid Orange Bitter, 40 Vol.-%.
Orange Blossom Water
Is the German expression of Eau de Fleur d'Orange.
Orange Squash
Is the English expression of orange syrup. Production and use is like the one of Lemon Squash.
Orange
Orange belongs to the category of berry fruits of the orange tree, originally coming from China but today growing in many warm temperatured countries like Mediterrianean Countries, south Africa, California, Florida, Israel, Spain and Italy. Oranges consist of citric acid, fruit sugar and vitamin C. It is also differed into 6 - 12 segments. There are two main differnt groups, on the one hand the sweet orange ( with yellow or blood red pulp) and on the other the bitter orange (Bergamots, Pomeranzes). Used for decoration as well as for freshly squeezed juice, concentrated fruit juice and frozen fruit. Other words for it are: Apfelsinen, China Apple, Siam Apple, Sina Apple.
Orgeat - Syrup
It is a kind of almond milk, made of almond oil, often used to aromatize drinks. Known product: Riemerschmid Mandelsyrup (Almondsyrup).
