Before-Dinner-Drink
Common term used in the United States to describe drinks that are consumed before having dinner.
Bergamot oil
Is ethereal oil of the skin of the bergamot.
Bergamot
Belongs to the category of citrus fruits, especially oranges. Its shape is similar to the one of a pear, the skin is coloured golden yellow and contains ethereal essence of bergamot.
Besinge
Is another word for bilberry.
Bickberry
Is also another word for bilberry.
Bigarade
Is another word for pomeranze and means bitter or sour orange.
Bilberry
These are the berrys of the in Europe wild growing bilberry plant, mostly the fruits are of the size of a pea and the colour is blue-black. Today you can also see it growing in gardens (garden bilberry). Rich in vitamins A, B and C, used as juice as well as syrup and nectar. Fresh fruit is also used to decorate Cobblers and Claret cups or punch, another word for it is blueberry, french Myrtilles.
Bitter Almond Oil
It is made of the ethereal oil of almond seeds, a special treatment will remove the hydrogen cyamide in the seeds. It is colourless and is often used to aromatize other drinks.
Bitter Lemon
Limes are the basis of this drink, it is mixed with flavoured sparkling water and quinine, its colour is yellow green and it is a bit muddy. That quinine is used has to be shown clearly on the product's bottle, the Austrian law demands this. Known products of companies like: Schweppers, Carlsbourg, Tubourg, Faxe, Kinley.
Bitter Orange
This is a flavoured water on the basis of pomeranzen. It is sparkling and contains quinine, its colour is orange and it is a bit muddy. Again the Austrian Law demands that it is clearly shown that quinine is used.
